Amanté, Enamor, Daisy Dee, Lejaby, Marie Jo, Calvin Klein, Vanessa, Sans Souci, Victoria’s Secret, etc.. What do these words have in common? They are all brands of lingerie.
Lingerie is a term for fashionable and alluring women’s undergarments. It derives from the French word linge, “washables” — as in faire le linge, “do the laundry” — and ultimately from lin for washable linen, the fabric from which European undergarments were made before the general introduction of cotton from Egypt and then from India.
These are stylish, sexy, seductive, fashionable and sooooooooooooooooooooooo EXPENSIVE!!!
A couple of days ago, I was out with my friend who has this huge craze for lingerie. It’s become something like a colelction of hers! I too would love to buy lingerie and wear a new one everyday to let that feeling of beauty wrap me in a comfortable cocoon of self confidence and to entice my husband to do many things;-) But these small pieces of garments are SO costly, it just is NOT affordable! Have you watched the internet sites for these lingerie? Its so tempting!
But why are they so costly? Some of these brands of undergarments which by the way none would see us don except for ourselves, are more costly than the dress we wear that everyone sees! WHY? Is there any logical explanation for this?
I’m wondering. Could the reason be the high cost why many women just don’t feel that a bra is a necessary piece of clothing?
These prices have got to reduce sometime sooner rather than later so that the beauty one feels from inside can emanate from the individual.

Talking about apartments, a particular one comes to mind – PRAKASA PRIDE APARTMENT – in Bangalore on the Outer Ring Road. I used to stay there a couple of years back.
Man! I got to say. The first impression I had about this place was how well it was situated. A restaurant, IT Parks, a College, Baskin Robbins, grocery store, hospital, theatre, supermarket, bus stop, auto stand.. everything is just walking distance! What a strategic position! Isn’t it?

But the facilities this apartment has to offer does not come in an attractive package. Yes. There sure is a badminton court which can substitute as a tennis court too and with the necessary materials maybe even into a basketball court. It has a childrens park, underground parking facility, lift and power backup. Even a gym! But you would agree with me when I say that these things require high maintenance. Isn’t it?
Now, THAT is what this apartment lacks. A proper maintenance system and a society to enable this. Hey! Don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed my stay at this apartment. But now, talking from an outsider’ point of view: The building has a lot of cracks on its walls, it is unfurnished (& I mean TOTALLY unfurnished!) – the apartment we had rented did not have curtain rods even! The tennis court does not have a net. The childrens park is a teeny weeny tiny bit of area at one end of Prakasa Pride. Their facilities such as water and milk are very very VERY irresponsible! For the effects of the generator, one has to fiddle with the power switch! Just imagine the condition when the power goes off at night while you are sleeping. The centre block rarely receives sunlight. From an architectural point of view, it could also be noted that there is basically NO symmetry in this apartment or within it. There is no place to even hang the clothes to dry! Insects can easily enter through the gaps between the doors/windows and the walls. The gym cannot even be entered into, just because someone in the apartment has its keys and he just does not allow anyone else to use it and nor does he respond to repeated queries for the key. This so-called ‘gym’ is permanently bolted shut. The lift rarely works and the basement is another story in itself! No flat has a demarcated area for parking space and it is something like first come first serve or the type of vehicle you own. If you own a two-wheeler, then you can be jostled around from one parking space to another ending up with no permanent spot! Its an utterly unfair situation!
Looking on the bright side of things, the security is extremely efficient. The common grounds are dusted every morning and the garbage is cleaned out. The tennis court provides an excellent workout. There is a yahoo group for this apartment where members can discuss their problems and voice out their opinions. There are some friendly neighbours, although they do not poke their nose in another persons business. The house is okayily spacious. Also, I did mention the strategic location of the apartment didn’t I
There is a garden in the front and anyone interested can take a lovely stroll around the apartment in the evenings. You can see the traffic rushing by but the noise doesn’t reach till the apartments. The third block receives a LOT of sunlight and its very refreshing in the morning, however it does not get too hot or too cold. Just right! The best part is that there is NEVER a shortage of water here and its very easy to describe the location of the apartments to any caterer/ restaurant.
I don’t know how this apartment came to mind now. But since it did, I thought I would share this small piece with you.. Especially so that anyone who wants to rent/ buy a house in these apartments could know both sides of the coin.
The ‘men’ of Bangalore July 18, 2009

Work takes up almost all the time these days. Get up in the morning, send him off to work, pack lunch and rush to office hopping through traffic, battling with the crazy passengers in the bus to get myself a seat! Talking of which reminds me about these so-called “men” in the city of Bangalore.
When you get into a bus, and a man is sitting on a ladies seat, do the men get up for you or do they continue sitting there pretending as though nothing’ wrong..as though they are exactly where they are supposed to be? This is the case in this metropolitan city. In fact, sometimes you find these homo sapiens pretend to be in a deep sleep the moment a lady enters the bus! Else he would be in his own world..imagining his own dreams and all the time gloating over the fact that he has got himself a seat in the bus.
Can u BELIEVE such kind of men??!!! Some of the local women are worse! They don’t even bother to ask these she-men to get up. Instead they remain standing by the driver’ side creating more of a jam inside the bus and the men sit luxuriously as though everything is as it ought to be.
And in the case of pregnant ladies, women with babies on their arms and elderly people, the case just gets worse. Neither our she-man nor does our weak woman offer their seat to her!! They actually turn away hoping that they are not asked to “MOVE IT”! It truly is a pathetic situation.
There are very few guys who are gentleman enough to give up their seat and do the right thing. All said, I think gentlemen are very few in Bangalore.
Should husbands work on holidays? April 18, 2009

Holidays are those days where we can sleep late, have breakfast in bed, treat ourselves with beauty solutions, dining outside and man more stuff like these…
If you are married, well.. you also get to make ahem! ahem! … l.o.v.e.!!!
But when your husband has no leaves, no holidays, and is bound to his work upsetting both him and you, it surely is a sad plight. Isn’t it?
From when my husband has joined this new project, he has not been able to pursue his heart’ desire of body building as he has so much of work, and is tired and over all this, he has to work on a Saturday also! Just as my busy season got over, his commenced.
So many of your plans fail because of this slight 9 hour thing. But hey! It’ recession time. We can’t say “NO”. Coz’ who knows when luck might kick you out onto the streets without a job! When he is at home, we cook together, watch movies, cuddle in each others arms, play a couple of rounds of Badminton, go shopping… It’s fun. It really is. But from today on, I have to wait for him to return as tired as all the other days of the week. We’ll have dinner and go to bed. Zip. That’s it.
I pesonally would prefer my man to be with me during holidays to share stuff and to do stuff together. How about you?

The busy season is finally over! and you have NO idea how happy I am!!!
It’s true when elders tell us: Enjoy this time. Once you start working it is going to be very hectic!! We would obviously feel that they can say this or whatever else they want because they have a job and that they do not understand the feelings of someone who does not have a job. But it is true. Once you start working, everything is SO hectic. You have no time for anything at all.
Luckily… March 21, 2009

I am SO lucky to be married to my husband!
He’ just Perfect! He has been SO supportive of my job timings which have now increased to 11 hours a day due to the financial year busy season! He helps me with all the household chores and especially with cooking! I have NO idea what I would have done without him…
It feels great to be married to such a gem of a person!
I agree the work timings are a bit over the board and it just is not fair on him. Mine and because of that, his schedules are all in haywire! The body clocks too! Our meal timings and the cookng is all on such a low scale these days that I feel so bad about the fact that I am not able to look after him as I used to..
Sometimes I feel I just ought to turn in my resignation letter. But the joy that you get on the last day of every month is just too tempting!!!
Well, who knows what may happen when.. SO, Im just taking things slow. Yes, I am looking for another job with better timings so that I could have my personal life also. But right now it is just the job! :/ I knw. It does sound so bad. Doesn’t it…

Hey there evrybody..
Firstly let me begin with a BIG apology for being soooo behind in my writings. Although when you hear the reason, you sure would not be feeling too bad about it!
I GOT A JOB!!!
It all began one fine day some months back when I received a call from a placement offfice informing me about a vacancy. As I was getting bored out of my wits sitting at home, I thought to myself, “Why not? I shall give this a try even though it may not be my field.” And thus, the journey began. I went through 5 rounds of interviews & tests and passed. Soon it was the day to collect my offer letter. I was THRILLED! I’d be joining in 2 weeks time! My office was FAR away nd I would have to travel a lot. Also the timings would be a little rigorous. But I was just SO enthralled at having finally become a working lady that I did not give it any thought.
The day finally dawned and I went to office, with trepidation in my heart as to what was awaiting me. But it was GREAT! It was fantastic!!
Everything was going wonderfully well. I was part of a pilot team and it felt good.
Aah.. Before you think all’ bliss, let me assure you. It was not!!! Being a pilot team, we had no work, we were being pushed from team to team and were literally like orphans on the floor!! Nobody knew what work we wuld actually be doing. Nobody knew who to report to. Man! It was crazy!!! It still is. But the good part is that Ive made friends and its fun! Over all the hectic schedules and busy timings and rigorous wor,k, it s good to be up and about. On the move. Working!
