Today I went to my old school. It was a nostalgic moment for me and I wished I could turn back the years to those splendid times when life was care-free and everything was a game.. when I had no responsibilities or burdens to carry.. no deep thoughts necessary and all the happiness that was possible ( which I realize now..) …

I came across this poem on our notice board.. It touched me really deep.. And I thought it might help someone out here in the blogging world if I shared it..

“Touch of the Master’s Hand” by Myra Welsh

” T’was battered and scarred, and the auctioneer
Thought it scarcely worth his while
To waste much time on the old violin,
But held it up with a smile.

“What am I bidden, good folks,” he cried,
“Who’ll start the bidding for me?”
“A dollar, a dollar,” then, two! Only two?
“Two dollars, and who’ll make it three?

“Three dollars, once; three dollars, twice;
Going for three . . . “But no,
From the room, far back, a grey haired man
Came forward and picked up the bow;

Then, wiping the dust from the old violin,
And tightening the loose strings,
He played a melody pure and sweet
As a caroling angel sings.

The music ceased, and the auctioneer,
With a voice that was quiet and low,
Said: “What am I bid for the old violin?”
And he held it up with the bow.

“A thousand dollars, and who’ll make it two?
Two thousand! And who’ll make it three?
Three thousand, once; three thousand, twice;
And going and gone,” said he.

The people cheered, but some of them cried,
“We do not quite understand
What changed its worth?” Swift came the reply:
“The touch of a master’s hand.”

And many a man with life out of tune,
And battered and scarred with sin,
Is auctioned cheap to the thoughtless crowd,
Much like the old violin.

A “mess of potage,” a glass of wine;
A game, and he travels on.
He is “going” once, and “going” twice,
He’s “going” and almost “gone.”

But the Master comes and the foolish crowd
Never can quite understand
The worth of a soul and the change that’s wrought
By the touch of the Master’s hand.”

 Is it not beautiful..?

I am SO totally completely bored right now!!!

Its raining here. And when it rains, the best thing is to curl up with a good book on the bed with some soft music playing in the background and some yummy tempting warm food beside you!!!

Else sitting on the porch, preferably on a rocking chair with a mug of warm chocolate is a blissful experience!!

Even better would mostly be to get romantic with the man you love!!! Jason and I just love the rains.. But not when we have to go out someplace.. And its wonderful snuggling together in bed 🙂 His strong warm hands around me.. Mmm.. Truly blissful!!!

Goody good good!! :D June 23, 2008

I was tensed and excited everything at the same tim you could say .. till very recently.. (https://4mgiselle.wordpress.com/2008/06/22/omg/) But thanks to all the reassurances from various quarters and the absolute certainty of happiness and fun, Im now soo very much free of all the worries I had in mind.. and looking forward to my D-DAY!!!! 🙂 Just cant wait for it!!!

Life is filled with twists and turns all right, left, and U-turns tooo!!! I guess we just cant predict anything after all.. We have a dream.. keep it in our mind and try to achieve it when we are side-tracked half the time. .and in the end, be happy with what we have..coz’ we got to remember.. things could have been worse.. but its not.. And thats what matters.

The Rainbow:) June 22, 2008

I saw a rainbow today! 🙂 And I am so excited.. !!! 🙂

I was travelling, and the wind was blowing my hair over my face when as I smoothed it down and looked out of the window at the cloud laden sky, I saw a beautiful rainbow.. It was so enchanting and pretty that I kept following its trail till my destination.. wondering about the pot of gold from where the colours must have originated 😉

Thats when I remembered my 12th grade physics classes where we studied all about how a rainbow is formed..

This is what wikipedia reminded me about rainbows..

“Rainbows are optical and meteorological phenomena that cause a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the Earth’s atmosphere. They take the form of a multicoloured arc, with red on the outer part of the arch and violet on the inner section of the arch. More rarely, a secondary rainbow is seen, which is a second, fainter arc, outside the primary arc, with colours in the opposite order, that is, with violet on the outside and red on the inside.”

Seeing that rainbow felt as though peace was invading my soul and a sense of beauty permeated through my mind… I felt like dancing in the rain!!! 🙂

Awright.. I gotto do something!!! :/ June 19, 2008

So, here I am once again wondering whether I am just the rightsize or whether Im moving more towards the “plump” side.. One thing I know for sure is that I am not ‘thin’!!!! Dont think Ive ever been and neither will I ever be.

Never one to be much too concious about my figure, I have always felt that even though I ‘matured’ earlier than the other girls, Ive had a shapely figure. But these days I think Ive let it go its way… and THAT is bad. Really bad, my friend.. yea.. I know..

I know Im not “fat”. Also, I look good in Indian wear. But if I dont keep in shape now, THEN it would become a problem.

Now that my marriage is coming up, what do I do? How do I reduce some weight so as to look goood for my wedding? I love food. I am a little lazy to exercise! (you could say real lazy…)  But Ive got to do something about it.

Its quite like on and off. I begin and then I cool off. .. Then after awhile I begin again and then all of a sudden, get bored.. On and off..on and off.. Vicious cycle uh..

But this time, I am going to restrain my food intake and slowly get onto the exercise routine..

After all.. dont a girl have to look “good enough to eat” for her man 😉

Wish me all the best!!! 🙂

I’m all whorls! May 2, 2008

This is really cool.. Just this other day, I rcvd this fwd from a friend and mine came out right!!! Mine was OOOOO (all whorls)!!!

It is already an accepted fact that every single person in the world has a different set of fingerprints. The Chinese have devised a way to read personality & destiny traits by studying the waves and the circles that appear at the tips of everyone’s fingers – indeed so convinced are they that in the old days the fingers of prospective daughters-in-law were carefully scrutinized by prominent families to ensure they did not unwittingly welcome women who had fingers that showed alternate circles and waves on their fingers, as it was commonly believed that such women would bring trouble into the family, being particularly difficult to control and usually very aggressive.
In this issue of FSW we bring you some indications of destiny & personality traits based on the circles and waves on the five fingers of each hand. Guys should examine their left hands while women should look at their right hands.
Here are the two different patterns of circles and waves seen on every finger. To make a reading, look at your thumb print first, then your index finger, your middle finger, your ring finger and then your little finger in that order. This is the sequence that offers clues to your destiny & fortunes of your life.
For ease of reference we shall refer to circles as Os and to waves as Ws.

Fingers: OOOOO (all whorls)
Means: This person is very confident, has a strong character and a hot temper. He/she is an independent person. The luck of this person changes dramatically in life from one period to the next. The undoing of this person will be his/her hot temper so it is vital that this person must learn to be patient and calm.

Shape: WWWWW (all waves)
Means: This person is a straightforward honest person who goes with the flow. The fingers indicate someone very sensitive, who is especially suited to design and creative work. People with these fingerprint patterns tend to be shy and uncomfortable in social situations, so are not suited to work in PR, politics or any kind of work requiring them to meet people.

Shape: OWWWO
Means: If you can choose a prestigious working career, you will be very successful. However, you should avoid the tendency to get big-headed and you must never take your career for granted. You should also watch your back, as you tend to attract jealousy into your life and could get betrayed. Always look for long-term benefits.

Shape: OWWOW
Means: You will need to work harder during the early days of your career. When you reach middle and older age, you will get recognition and wealth luck. So your life gets better the older you get.

Shape: OWOWW
Means: It is vital that you resist the tendency to be narrow-minded in your attitudes and in the way you think and work. Try to be humble and learn as much as possible. This is how you will get influential help that brings you to the peak of your business and career life.

Shape: WOOOO
Means: You are a very clear-minded person. As long as you work hard, you are guaranteed to be
successful. Even though you tend to be in a hurry, there will be those who help you along. You are also a person with a kind heart.

Means: Because you are kind and have an in-built polite attitude, you will easily get help from older persons and friends. You will enjoy great success in your working life and your only weakness is you don’t trust people too easily. This can make you too conservative.

Shape: OOOWW
Means: You have a tendency to be bad tempered, and rather quick to judge. This is a shallow attitude and could easily get you onto the wrong path. If you can correct this tendency of yours, you will have great success. The potential is in you, so try to be calm in your approach.

Shape: OWWWW
Means: You have good character but can only become really successful in older age. Be prepared to have to work really hard during your younger and middle age periods, but you will become a successful person in older years.

Shape: WOWWW
Means: You are very good in the social skills. No matter what industry you are in, you like to take risk and you will always face uncertainty. Be careful as the later years of your life could bring yet more challenges.  Take less risk as you get older.

Shape: WWOWW
Means: You are a person who has high vision and heavy responsibility. Be careful. Your visions could get you into serious difficulty. Better to stay more grounded, then your life will have greater success.

Shape: WWWOW
Means: You are very intelligent and will enjoy a lot of scholastic honors. You will have a smooth life and benefit from wealth luck. If you can work hard, you will become a great and successful person.

Shape: WWWWO
Means: You will inherit a business or property from your parents or from an older person. Even though you are a capable person and can be successful in your own business, your tendency towards impatience could get you into a lot of difficulty.

Shape: OOWWW
Means: You have a tendency to be proud and snobbish, although deep inside you are a kind-hearted person. Your social skills however need improving. Your relatives tend to take advantage of you.

Shape: WOWWO
Means: You are a deep thinking person. At a young age, you are already thinking of your future. You will enjoy a smooth and peaceful life; you will be very happy in your old age.

Shape: WOWOO
Means: You are a very sociable person and you enjoy the carefree kind of life going out, partying and clubbing. When you reach middle and older age, you will rely on people to support you. Be warned, if you do not prepare yourself, you might have a hard time during your older years.

Shape: WOWOW
Means: You are not an easy person to control or to convince, as you are something of a rebel. If you can stay focused on what you want from life, you will be successful. The problem is that you can be fickle and vague in what you really want from life.

Shape: WWOWO
Means: Your whole life is full of ups and downs, successes and failures. However, if you can

move steadily step-by-step, you can enjoy a peaceful life as you grow into maturity.

Shape: WWWOO
Means: You are very kindhearted person and there will be good people in your life, as you will attract these kinds of people towards you. Work hard and you will easily reap your just rewards.  You will definitely become successful.

Shape: OWWOO
Means: You will get recognition and become famous. Even though your life appears unstable during your earlier years of working life and you need to work hard in your thirties, when you reach maturity, your life gets better and better.

Shape: WWOOW
Means: You are a very capable person, but you tend to lack good judgment. You also tend to start something and then lose interest. Stay focused if you want to succeed.

Shape: OWOOW
Means: You are a noble person with a good character. You tend to be very helpful towards colleagues and friends so you are a popular person. Because you can think in-depth and have sensitivity towards others, you will enjoy success in the creative fields.

Shape: OWOWO
Means: You are blessed with a fast and formidable intellect. You work very quickly and with great effectiveness. However, your character is very aggressive and people tend to be intimidated by you. If you can correct this trait, you can rise to great heights.

Shape: WWOOO
Means: You are a very straightforward person. But your thinking tends to be rather naïve and shallow. Even though your suggestions are good, if you don’t think through what you say, you should not be surprised if people tend to ignore your views. Your speech tends to lack power.

Shape: OOWOW
Means: You are a high-minded person, able to see and grab opportunities. You are best suited to work in the financial and investment fields. Your luck gets better as you grow older.

Shape: OOWWO
Means: You are a very honest and reputable person. You have little urge to get rich or pursue material wealth. But watch it, if you don’t know how to take care of yourself, you can easily get conned and taken advantage of by people.

Shape: OOOWO
Means: Your social skills are good, so you attract guidance and help from influential people. Many people help you in your rise to prominence, and your luck turns fabulous in later years.

Shape: OOWOO
Means: You are a very brave and hardworking person. A lot of people trust you when you are young. However, unless you work at preserving your reputation, you could make enemies on your rise up and find that life becomes harder as you get older.

Shape: OWOOO
Means: You are a kindhearted character and easily get along with others. You are not good at doing business, but you are good as a teacher or even as a spiritual master. You can enjoy success in the academic world.

Shape: WOOWW
Means: You are reputable and have a peaceful character. So you are definitely someone who can become successful and recognized. However, because of your tendency towards pride, you could end up offending the wrong people.

Shape: WOOWO
Means: You are a simple but logical person. If you can focus on the fundamentals of life and adopt a step-by-step approach in your climb up the success ladder and not be too impatient, you will benefit from wealth luck and be honored by people.

Means: You are a straight talking person who is forthright in your approach. You are strong in character, playful but you also easily offend people. But you are also lucky because when you reach middle age, you will rise to a prominent position and your luck really changes for the better.

Why? April 20, 2008

Its been awhile since Ive posted anything here.. Its just that there’s been so much happening..what with the wedding coming up and all..

So, as I was sitting here, tag surfing and playing on all the various networking sites, the thought suddenly struck me.. Why is it that men do not undergo the same problems that a woman goes through in her life? Why does the woman have to suffer the pain of both menstruation as well as childbirth? Why not a man? Why were we created this way?

Doesnt a man need to know how it feels with all the hormonal changes, physical changes and mood swings and the aches and pains and the tumultous feelings rushing through us…???

Why can men not realize the strength of a woman which lets her undergo all these things in life and emerge victorious.. overcoming her fears, her sorrows, her pains and working her way through life.. slogging in the office to better those who think that women are just not as capable as men. Working hard at home also, to care for and love her husband, kids and family…to turn a house into a home and make it shining with love beams..

Ive always hoped that some day men might understand exactly how strong a woman is and what makes her tick and what makes her snooze.. ie; what turns her on and what turns her off.. and yet understand also that women however strong they maybe, require that much the more amount of love and affection from a man to make her mentally strong and give her inner strength its brute power!!!

About souls and after-life.. March 27, 2008

I just returned from a funeral now.

As I was coming back home, my mind began asking me questions.. “What is death?”, “Where does one go after he is dead?”, “Is the person still alive even though he is dead?!”, “Is after-life a reality or atleast a possibility?”

According to me, death is an occurence where our soul leaves the physical entity known as our body, in which it stayed for all these years in a state of symbiosis.. ie; the soul gave the body a life and the body in turn gave the soul a home as well as a venue through which many things could be learnt ..thus enriching the soul..

So death, in line with what I think…does not actually take away a person’  life. Instead, it releases that person’  soul into a state where it feels nothing more, yearns for nothing but is content..

People die in different ways..Some peacefuly, some with fear in their hearts, and there are those who are killed accidentally and others who are murdered too… I feel that those who die peacefully are those who have accepted the fact that they are dying and this thought in itself lets the soul feel more free and happy..  And those who are murdered and did not get come to terms with the aspect of death itself, I think that even they after death, become cleansed…

The souls of our ancestors look after us always and in some spiritual way does guide us…  I think maybe all of these souls together is what constitutes God.

So in a way these people are actually alive and not dead.Because, it is the soul which makes a person what he is. So if the soul is stil lalive.. that would mean the person is still alive..only that we are not able to see, hear or touch that person.. But the essence is stil there…

After-life.. Now thats a widely discussed topic… I think we all do have a certain past and the forces of the universe does everything to make eternity flow in an organized manner.

Thats what I believe.

The life of a single girl.. March 26, 2008

1 comment so far

There she sleeps.. curled up in a ball.. blissful and peaceful, there is a slight smile on her unconcious face and her hair frames her face like an angel’  halo…

No late night talks with her boyfriend to wonder about were they are heading to in their life.. or what the future holds for them.. or when they are going to marry… No discussions about why he could not call her earlier.. Why he wants to sleep so early.. Why he can’t stay up for some more time.. Why cant they meet.. Why dont they get married..!!

She wakes up and goes to the bathroom to finish her morning chores with a sweet tune on her lips.. She does not sit in bed and wait for his call.. She does not lie in bed with eyes open and wonder what went wrong and what she could do to make up to him for whatever it was that went wrong!

But when she’ all ready –  dressed and breakfast done.. she does not have anyone to accompany her shopping or to watch a movie or to just go out for lunch..Her friends are all on the phone talking to their respective boyfriends.. making plans for the day.. Where to meet.. Where to go.. On the bike or in the car? What to have for lunch… Chinese or Indian? Which movie do we watch… Comedy or Action? English or Hindi? No questions such as; Shall we meet your parents today?  What colour do you want me to wear? Do you want to taste this dish that I just cooked yesterday? Shall we hang out at Music World? …

She sits alone in her room with a book.. yearning for someone who would be by her.. who would want to spend time with her and get to know her for who she really is.. She yearns to care for a person whom she can lavish her love upon…

All her friends are ready and the faces she just saw last night as either tear-filled or crying or accusing or disappointed or angry are all beaming now with 100 watt smiles on their faces.. looking dashing and eager to meet their guy! She just does not understand how this change of feelings could come about over a single night!!! and that too.. while sleeping!!

She spends her time in the house.. roaming around ..wondering whether she should go out alone and instantly changing her mind as she is sure she will see all the couples in town at every mall, every coffee shop, every book store, every cybercafe, every music store.. at each and every hangout! And she feels down.. the tune she was humming vanishes and her shoulders droop as she resigns herself to a day of eat and sleep…

Her girlfriends return and as she flits among them she hears about their day.. their outings.. the small expressions of love.. the tiny gifts.. the words of affection..their moments of togetherness…and she feels an envy towards her friends who have boyfriends..who have something that she doesnt but what she is eager to find.. She is eager to find that one true love.. which eludes her everytime…

She wants that feeling of belongingness…that feeling of being cherished.. that feeling of being the most important person in someone’  life.. that feeling of being thought about and missed.. that feeling which brings a smile on her lips.. and a bright shine in her eyes.. she yearns to feel love..

Yet, she abides her own sweet time and goes about her own work with a lilt in her steps once again knowing that she will find her man when the time is right.. Her mind diverts to her upcoming industrial visit to places all over India and just thinking of all the fun she’ going to have with her friends brings a smile to her face and she thanks God that she need not have any care in the world and can do as she please!!! She has her freedom!!! 🙂

This topic just popped into my mind cz’  I keep hearing from many of my friends about how lovely it would be if only they had a boyfriend.. Having a “boyfriend” is good and bad.. I think I have bought out both these sides to it with this lil story…
