One fine day, as I was wondering what to prepare for dinner, I realized that there were not enough vegetables to prepare any gravy and neither were there enough eggs to prepare an egg burji either! But I chanced upon this box of unopened soy chunks. Well, my mind started working and VOILA!!! This is what I came up with! 🙂 Vegetable Soy Fried Rice!

I did a very bad thing today. Why am I like this? Why can I not understand my husband? Why am I being such a pain in the ass!!!! :/

Jason loves me so much and this is what I do to him! I feel so terrible!!! 😥

… 😦 He took his frustration out at me when he came back from a hard day of work and I got all huffed up and insulted at his mentioning that my work looked like a game to him and I walked off to bed. I didn’t give him dinner and neither did I prepare anything for breakfast!!! I actually intentionally hurt the love of my life!!!! I don’t think even God would forgive me!!! 😥 I feel like crying.. Why do I behave this way sometimes?

He takes care of me and caters to my every need and wish.. He loves me with the whole of his heart and would never cheat on me. He loves the food I make for him and he likes spending time with me. Yet, what do I do… I hurt him, Again and again! :/

Fine!I don’t have a job. But that is not his fault! He is also trying to get me a job somehow.. and then WHY did I have to treat him the way I just did! I don’t think there is anything I could do to compensate for what I did :/ But what is it about the computer and the internet that is SO tempting to him and cant be put away for his girl, I cannot imagine! 😦 I feel so lonely when he sits in front of the computer..because the moment that happens, he completely looses every other sense of whats happening around him.. 😦

I did not even hug him yesterday night.. and neither did I give him any kisses when he went to office today.. and I made him go to bed hungry and go to office hungry today morning… :/

It is all my fault… :/ and I am not able to make up with him coz’ lost time can never be made up for.. 😦

But he too did not come to talk to me after venting out his frustration.. He could have just come near me at least.. He knows how fast I forgive him.. It really hurt me when he compared my field of work to a game..:/ and even I have not eaten anything in the past 1 day…

… Whats the use…? I was completely wrong and there is nothing I can do to make up with him over this 😦 and he is never going to forget this either.. 😦

Awright.. I gotto do something!!! :/ June 19, 2008

So, here I am once again wondering whether I am just the rightsize or whether Im moving more towards the “plump” side.. One thing I know for sure is that I am not ‘thin’!!!! Dont think Ive ever been and neither will I ever be.

Never one to be much too concious about my figure, I have always felt that even though I ‘matured’ earlier than the other girls, Ive had a shapely figure. But these days I think Ive let it go its way… and THAT is bad. Really bad, my friend.. yea.. I know..

I know Im not “fat”. Also, I look good in Indian wear. But if I dont keep in shape now, THEN it would become a problem.

Now that my marriage is coming up, what do I do? How do I reduce some weight so as to look goood for my wedding? I love food. I am a little lazy to exercise! (you could say real lazy…)  But Ive got to do something about it.

Its quite like on and off. I begin and then I cool off. .. Then after awhile I begin again and then all of a sudden, get bored.. On and off..on and off.. Vicious cycle uh..

But this time, I am going to restrain my food intake and slowly get onto the exercise routine..

After all.. dont a girl have to look “good enough to eat” for her man 😉

Wish me all the best!!! 🙂

Used as a starter, chicken salads are quite tempting..

Boiled chicken breasts

1 red Capsicum

1 Onion

1 Tomato

Slice the chicken into thin pieces and shred a part of it. Put the slices into a bowl and sprinkle pepper, vinegarand the required amount of salt, according to your taste buds.

Next, slice the onion, tomato, capsicum and half a cabbage. Mix it with the chicken. Add salt and pepper for taste and a little more mayonnaise. Now, you could garnish it with the shredded chicken.. and you have a yummy chicken salad 🙂

MINT (Pudina) RICE

  1. Take clean pudina leaves ( soak pudina leaves in water and clean them) in a mixer and add a little water to it so that the mixing takes place smoothly.
  2. Pour mixture into pan and add little oil. Allow to be heated with occasional stirring till oil is almost taken up. Add jeera (cumin) for taste. Add boiled rice into the mixture and mix well.

There is one more recipe for mint rice that I have not tried yet.. which is not as simple as this but tastes real good.. especially with a cucumber salad… You can also have it with plain ketchup!

I shall put that up in one of my later posts…

For now, you can enjoy this very simple recipe… which is healthy a well as tasty.

Who’ there who does not like pancakes… Its a classic breakfast recipe followed by almost every country in the world.. but known by different names..

Flour – 250g

Eggs – 4

Milk – 1/2 litre

Butter – 50g

A pinch of salt.

Make the batter a few hours before you need it so as to give the mixture time to settle.

Sieve flour and add salt. Mix and make a well in the middle. Add eggs. Pour milk little by little and whisk until you get  asmooth mixture. Gently melt the butter and add it to the mixture.

Get the frying pan very hot before you begin making the pancakes.. Melt a small piece of butter and take the required amount of the batter ..almost half a ladle and spread it over the surface of the pan. Fry for about 3min and turn it halfway..

If it comes out too dry, add a little butter or milk to the mixture and try again. In case it is too moist/oily, sieve in more flour and get rid of lumps by whisking it..

You can have it with a topping of your choice. .such as sugar, syrup, honey, jam, or even lemon juice!

Mmmm..the smell of lunch being cooked is just delicious!! The tangy yet spicy taste of prawns and the gobi manchurian which I had tasted just a while back, along with the baking aroma of chappathi and thoughts of the cooling caramel custard in the referigerator for dessert, makes my mouth water and my tummy growl… Grrr..!!!  😉

Im a very lucky person in matters of the appetite 🙂 … Ive often seen that if there’s this particular food that Id been craving for, somehow or the other, sooner or later, I do get that dish.. I feel soo content when my tummy is happy 😀 It gives me a sense of being happy.. a sense of peace.. a sense of liveliness.. a sense of loquaciousness.. and when the first signs of a siesta comes over you, it just completely takes over you.. and an afternoon nap snuggled with the one you love just completes the feast!
